“The Novice Men’s squad is open to all men studying at the University who want to learn to row with the goal of competing at a national level. Together, the novice men are a group of dedicated, high performing athletes and we plan on exceeding these top standards in the coming year.
The Novice Program is tailored to foster an enthusiastic and highly competitive environment, providing the opportunity for all athletes to thrive. With support from a comprehensive network within the club, our novice programme aims to create a strong understanding of rowing, and hopes to set each member up ready to progress to the senior squad after their novice year.
Joining the boat club is the perfect way to meet new people; whether you’re looking forward to a Wednesday social or a boathouse barbecue, we aim to connect the squad in and out of the boat.”

The Development Women
“We’re a squad made up entirely of first-time rowers who learn, train, and grow together. We know it can feel daunting at first but we also know how quickly it becomes one of the best parts of your uni experience.
Our role is all about helping you settle into the sport- from your very first session on the water to lining up at your first race. We’re here to guide you, encourage you, and help you build the confidence and strength along the way, making you ready for the senior squad the following year if you wish to carry on!
Our goal for this season is to create a fun, inclusive, and ambitious environment where you feel supported to push your limits, be competitive, and form lifelong friendships.”
